"Empty Cisterns" explores the story of the woman at the well. It takes a look at Jesus' ministry from the angel of emotional healing and applies the situation of the woman at the well to present-day application.
Lyrics:
A woman sought to fill her cup from a well that would run dry.
A Stranger sat at the well she sought, aware of her heart’s cry.
Although she was Samaritan and though He was a Jew,
He asked her for some water from the well in which she drew.
She found cisterns empty, and pools that always dry;
But in Christ, she found in Him an ever-fresh supply.
So many seek fulfillment in the things found on this earth
But nothing can compare to all the things that heaven’s worth;
In Christ are springs of blessings; in Him eternal life.
Oh come to Him and you will find true rest from this world’s strife.
We find cisterns empty, and pools that always dry;
But in Christ, we find in Him an ever-fresh supply.
This world can never satisfy the thirsting of your soul
Only one can heal your broken heart and make you whole.
Those who taste the love of Christ will seek for nothing more
Oh come to Him and you will find what you are longing for.
You’ll find cisterns empty, and pools that always dry;
But in Christ, you’ll find in Him an ever-fresh supply.
