9. Wilt Thou Be Whole?
From "Made Whole"
From "Made Whole"
"Wilt Thou Be Whole" is the climax of the "Made Whole" concert. Based on page 203 of chapter 21 in The Desire of Ages, it pulls together faith and whole-person healing into a final appeal for the listener to take up Christ's healing ministry in serving others. This song also plays at the balance between Christ's power to make us whole and His power to keep us out of a life of sin.
Lyrics:
“Wilt thou be whole?” the Savior asks in pity,
Oh, helpless one who strives with death and sin.
Oh, weary one, the world can never give you
Peace and life that satisfies within
The Savior bids you, “Rise in health and peace.”
Believe His word; your new life will begin;
Whatever binds your soul from peace and freedom--
He will set you free from chains of sin
Chorus:
“Wilt thou be whole?” the Savior asks today.
The Healer comes, dear purchase of His blood;
Neither death, nor life, nor any other separates you from eternal love.
Thou art made whole; go and sin no more;
As you are healed, live and walk renewed.
Abiding faith will hold you in His keeping;
In His grace is pow’r to will and do.
Reach out your hand, to give the captive freedom;
With His glory go and light the world.
Be the living hands and feet of Jesus;
Tell the world what you have seen and heard.
